Builds and manages external stakeholder engagement strategy and process for CR. Team in support of Target Forward
Orchestrates access and visibility to total CR stakeholder landscape and discovers opportunities, gaps, and insights to help build our reputation, advance our goals and minimize risk
Co-develops external stakeholders engagement strategy with internal partners, and facilitates and enables thoughtful stakeholder engagement and activation through teams
Develops a CR stakeholder engagement vision, strategy and process, in partnership with the CR LT and revisits annually
Captures, builds and maintains total stakeholder inventory for CR team and enables visibility to all stakeholder engagement activity across CR
Creates and gains buy in for CR stakeholder risk assessment, leveraging enterprise guardrails and frameworks; defines response decision-trees and escalation in collaboration with Reputation Management.
Builds and maintains best practice toolkit to stakeholder engagement for teams, leveraging internal partners and external research. Champions adoption/integration of tools as needed
Identifies opportunities to proactively influence our supportive stakeholders to build our credibility and reputation; develops tactical plans in collaboration with Communications
Regularly aggregates and monitors macro CR stakeholder issues and opportunities, including top risks, engagements, and trends/insights, in partnership with CR teams.
Manages memberships and associated activations with select nonprofit organizations/networks (e.g., BSR, GreenBiz, Sustainable Brands, etc)
Coordinate with Marketing, Communications, CR team, and select external partners to develop strategies that advance Target's reputation and credibility in the CR space
Supports CR leadership team with stakeholder engagement as needed
Enables and contributes to external disclosures including surveys, awards, ratings, etc.
Ensures stakeholder engagement efforts are grounded in equitable and community-informed methods
Directs consultants to refresh materiality assessment
About you:
B.A or B.S. degree or equivalent experience
7-9 years of business experience and community engagement or equivalent professional experience
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships at multiple levels; consummate team player
Experience leading efforts to co-create with diverse stakeholder groups using participatory engagement methods
Exceptional organizational, process, and project management experience
Ability to work independently and drive own work, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong leadership skills, facilitation, and ability to influence without authority
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills; connects dots, translates ideas into action
Proven ability to collaborate and engage with external partners
Knowledge of social and environmental stakeholder landscape
Communications and stakeholder engagement experience
This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location.A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $81,300 to $146,400.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
